About Kosher Without Borders

Kosher Iguazu is our South America program

A Kosher Without Borders Project

Kosher Iguazu is a project of Kosher Without Borders, founded by Daniel Najman, who first fell in love with this wonder of the world as a child and again during his year in the Chabad yeshiva of S. Paulo.

Iguazu Falls is the largest waterfall system on Earth, spanning the border of Argentina and Brazil. It features 275 individual cascades spanning nearly 2 miles.

Compared to Niagara, Iguazu is twice as wide, and 60% taller. We stay at the only hotel inside the park: Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. A mashgiach and kosher ingredients are flown in from S. Paulo, and the meals are prepared with the Belmond chefs under our supervision.

For kosher travelers, Iguazu has always been a challenge — there is no Chabad and no Jewish community in town. Our relationship with Belmond, and with the Jewish community in Brazil, is what makes a world-class kosher experience at the falls possible.

To make this trip complete, we added a city to start of your trip — Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires is the heart of kosher South America: dozens of kosher restaurants, the famous alfajores (pastries filled with dulce de leche), and a Jewish community that has been there for over a century. Rio is nice too.

This is a high-end trip. We're working on additional options for families who want the Iguazu experience with a smaller budget.
