KOSHER WITHOUT BORDERS PRESENTS

Yeshiva Week 2027 — Skip the Miami Lines

High-end kosher trips to Iguazu Falls and Rio or Buenos Aires — stay at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. This year you won't wait in line for a table.

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas — aerial view of the pink Portuguese colonial hotel facing Iguazu Falls

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas — Inside the National Park

The only hotel inside Iguazu National Park. A pink Portuguese colonial property, built in 1958, facing the cataracts.

Walk the trails at sunrise, hours before the day visitors arrive. Stay for the full moon walks, when the spray catches the moonlight and a lunar rainbow appears across the falls.

The Kosher Arrangement

Before the trip, we call each guest to design the menu together. We fly in the mashgiach from São Paulo with the kosher ingredients — meat, cheese, and local snacks — and the meals are prepared with the Belmond chefs under our supervision.

The culinary experience is designed to be among the most memorable meals of your travels, shaped together with the Belmond chefs and our kosher team.

The Itinerary

The Trip

Two cities. One arrival. Iguazu Falls at the close.

A six-day journey starting in Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires — Rio or Buenos Aires for the first half of the trip — then onward to Iguazu Falls and two nights at the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, inside the national park.

Sunrise over Rio de Janeiro with Sugarloaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay

Rio de Janeiro

Three nights on Copacabana.

Arrive Thursday morning. Settle in at the Fairmont Rio Copacabana on the beachfront. Shabbat is observed in the hotel, with kosher meals prepared on-site by our Rio kosher chef. Chabad Beit Lubavitch is a walk along the beach. The days are spent in the city — Sugarloaf, the Botanical Gardens, the streets of Santa Teresa.

Iguazu

Then, the Falls

Three days at Iguazu, two nights at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. The Brazilian side first, for the panorama. The Argentine side next, for the depth. Then a final morning — the Macuco Safari boat to the base of the falls, the helicopter for the scale of it from above — before the flight home.

Why This Trip, This Week

Weather

January is peak summer in South America. Iguazu Falls averages 85°F and tropical. Buenos Aires is warm and dry. Rio is beach weather.

Kosher Infrastructure

Mashgiach-supervised meals at both Belmond Cataratas and the Fairmont Copacabana — flown in from São Paulo, prepared with the hotel chefs. The Alvear Icon in Buenos Aires has two kosher restaurants in the building. Buenos Aires has the largest Jewish community in Latin America and the strongest kosher infrastructure.

Built Around Your School's Break

Yeshiva Week falls at different times for different schools. This is a fully private trip — we coordinate the dates around your family's specific calendar, not a fixed group departure.

Iguazu Falls with rainbow and mist — peak January flow season

Peak Falls Season

January is the rainy season in the region, which means the falls are at their highest flow of the year. The roar is louder, the spray reaches higher, and the rainbows are more frequent.

Three nights in Rio de Janeiro at the Fairmont Copacabana, or in Buenos Aires at the Alvear Icon in Puerto Madero. Either way, you're in the heart of one of South America's defining cities.

Glatt kosher dining in Buenos Aires — Yeshiva Week

Local Flavors, Fully Kosher

Argentine steaks, Italian pasta, fresh sushi, and yes — the only glatt kosher McDonald's outside Israel. Mashgiach-supervised meals at the hotels, kosher restaurants in the buildings, and the strongest kosher food scene in the southern hemisphere. Rio is nice too.
